I entered my first gym and picked up my very first hex dumbbell at the age of 14, and I have never stopped loving the fitness life. Having been a high school athlete, and suffering major back issues during these years, I found that strength training was the key to relieving pain and further injury.
I began Bodybuilding seriously during my college years and loved every minute of it. I went on to obtain a masters degree in education and taught anatomy for an alternative high school. Deciding to follow my passion for fitness and improving the lives of others, I began pursuing personal training and teaching group fitness on a full time basis.
Along the way I earned a multitude of fitness certifications, and training credentials. In 2004, I developed a group fitness and weight loss program called “Fit to the Core: Group Fitness and Weight-Loss Program.” This program has been very successful and continues to grow. It is a unique fitness/weight loss program, as it incorporates educating the clients on all three components of fitness: Cardiovascular, Resistance training, and arguably the most important component, Nutrition. This is not a cookie cutter program, and each clients’ fitness course is individualized, all while giving them the support of other members.
In May of 2008, I finally opened my very own personal training studio, and group training center. The journey begins . . .
What I have done for fitness fun
Field Hockey, College Basketball, Bodybuilding, Camp Savage, (Yes, I am a savage girl), too many to count road races, 3 mile, 5 mile, half marathon, full marathon, (26.2 baby!!!), Triathlons, Long walks with family, friends, and clients. The list continues to grow.
Greatest fitness accomplishment:
Running the marathon under 4 hours. Whew! Was I tired after that!
I am most proud . . . to be able to change peoples lives; both physically and emotionally.
